History:
Sinnoh Legends
In Sinnoh, Karkat found himself with nothing better to do than play along with what was expected of him. He kept close to Gamzee and Sollux, feeling it his responsibility to keep his moirail and blind best friend safe in a strange world, and very begrudgingly allowed Dave to follow them around. On top of that he took it upon himself as a leader to be in charge of everyone he recognized, even if they were alternates that weren't from his world because SOMEONE had to do it. And by default also took it upon himself to be in charge of any of the others there who would allow it, under the impression that the sooner someone completes the quest the sooner they can find their way home.
He was never into the whole "catch 'em all" bullshit and was picky when it came to what he would catch. Even after a month, he only had one Pokemon in addition to his starter and that was fine by him. With the AU's that were there, he got a glimpse of things that quite frankly broke his thinkpan (Such as the case with Dave Vantas and Equius Lalonde) but he managed to just file that under alternate shenanigans bullshit. He did however prefer Dave Vantas over Strider any day. Equius Lalonde could have burned in a fire and died for all he cared.
Siren's Pull
Karkat's stay in Siren's Port wasn't entirely eventful major happenings wise. Unlike most of the people getting mixed up in SERO and Afterglow Inc, Karkat preferred to just spend his time getting by day to day. When he first arrived, the only one he really knew was Dave and at the time their friendship was shakey at best. They didn't always get along, but that didn't stop Karkat from messaging Dave whenever he had a problem or was bored, or going to him when things seemed desperate. He spent most of his days sassing people on the network, and then one night made the biggest mistake. He was angry, frustrated and pent up and wanted to see what he could do on his own. So he left his Pokemon at home and decided to go out and fight the creatures in the Darkness to blow off some steam. It was a horrible plan that backfired on him like a bitch. He ran into a monster that was too large and too fast for him to dodge and he barely managed to escape with his life. Covered in cuts and bleeding out fast, he messaged Dave to ask for his help and dragged his sorry ass to his apartment to get patched up and pass out on his couch for a while. It was a miracle in itself that he managed to get there before passing out from blood loss.
Things were slow and uneventful after that, his back needed stitches and had to heal so it was a lot of waiting around and watching movies. But it was only a few days after the near death experience when someone's spell went wrong and cast gender swap magic on a lot of inhabitants in the city. So he woke up with his bandages strained from the too large chest he found himself with and had to call over Scatty for help. He had no idea if the pain was from just having them, from them tightening the bandages or if somehow the sex change had irritated his stitches. Being the mother hen she was, Scatty took care of him and got him cleaned up and repatched up just fine, and he spent the rest of the time the spell was under locked up in his room refusing to go outside.
With only really knowing Dave since him and Jake didn't talk much, Karkat was left alone and restless and felt the best way to not go crazy was to keep himself as busy as possible. He got a job working as a waiter for a tea house during the day, and to pass the nights he picked up a second job at the underground mall working at the movie theater. It made days go by much quicker without dwelling on unimportant things or being too stupid and angry and going out fighting again. And then more of his friends started showing up and he realized having two jobs was a bit much because it didn't leave him with any free time. He dropped his night job and just in time to meet Dirk Strider. They hit it off fast enough on good terms, Karkat handing over leadership position to him since it seemed like he had all of his shit together and Jake and Dave would actually listen to Dirk while they wouldn't for Karkat.
From there it was more of a casual lifestyle and Dirk quickly became a focus point of these times. Two months were filled with nights of Dirk teaching Karkat how to swim and then working on sparring and training him to become faster. Karkat didn't want to end up in a position where he'd be crawling to someone's doorstep covered in blood again so he wanted to make himself stronger and faster and figured training with a Strider that could tolerate him was a good start on that. But after those few months he realized he was starting to develop a thing for Dirk and assumed it was a rebound for accepting that Terezi had chosen Dave over him and there was nothing he could do about that but accept it. And with Dirk dealing with knowing he'd lost his chance with Jake he was willing to give the whole dating thing a try.
A while more of uneventful day to day life until the time came for his canon update. It was like emotional whiplash, going from having nothing but Dave and the Mayor as his friend to coming back to Siren's Port where he had not only Dirk as his boyfriend but also with Sollux, John, Jade and Dave all there whenever he needed them. And with Dirk just returning from an update with emotional consequences as well, both of them were needy and a bit more touchy than usual which escalated to comfort sex. As Siren's Pull came to an end and the Core released the pull, there were portals opened for characters to return home if they picked the right one. Not wanting to be separated and knowing that their timelines were close enough so that it shouldn't matter too much, Karkat and Dirk decided to go through one together and hope for the best.
Personality/CR:
The only major changes in his personality had nothing to do with the games he was in at all. The reason was simply his canon updates. At the beginning of Sinnoh, he was from right when they were at the Green Sun. At the beginning of Siren's Pull, it was in the middle of the meteor trip. And then yet still near the end of Siren's Pull he was canon updated to be near the end of the three year journey. So as for canon wise, his personality hasn't been very effected at all aside from the minor points listed here.
Thanks to being thrown from Sinnoh to Siren's Port and to home and back to Siren's Port again (due to a canon update), Karkat's accepted that weird shit just happens and it's entirely possible to end up in strange places with no explanation and no way to go back home. A resignment with the knowledge that eventually people come back home, and at the same time people you get close to could disappear at any moment. This knowledge makes him appreciate his friends he has and makes a little bit more, though it doesn't change how he'd normally treat his friends. Just because circumstances are less stable doesn't mean anyone deserves any type of special treatment. It just means enjoy their company while you can, because tomorrow you or they could be gone.
Due to the rules of Siren's Pull, Karkat's memories of the people he met in Sinnoh were fuzzy at best. All he could remember were that it was possible for alternate universes that are completely different and fucked up from his own exist, which makes accepting things of the sort a bit more on the natural side rather than something to freak out over whenever it pops up.
While most people fell under the matter of how he treats everyone by default, be it friend or otherwise, there were two people he met that had him treating them differently than he would others. The first of which was a woman named Scathach, aka Scatty. She was a smartass vampire that feeds off of emotion, and somehow quickly got her place as Karkat's new mother figure since he didn't have Kanaya to fill that position at the time. He liked her attitude and even when she's teasing the hell out of him he wouldn't have it any other way. A friend he knew he could depend on if he ever needed anything, no matter how personal or embarrassing the subject. When he woke up stuck in the body of a woman, she was the first person he turned to to help him out with a problem he was having and even when he was realizing he had flushed feelings for someone he didn't know what to do with, he went to her for advice.
The second person to have a major effect on him was Dirk Strider. He shocked Karkat with how reliable and resourceful he was, and was the one he immediately handed over leadership and organization skills over to until further notice. He had full faith that Dirk was the type who could Get Shit Done no matter what came. Which apparently he found attractive in someone because somewhere between organizing plans, swimming lessons, dances, spars and general bullshitting around he found himself realizing he was the biggest fucking hypocrite of all and flushing hard for a Strider. He didn't think he had a chance but by some miracle got a chance at a few dates to start off with. Whether it was genuine interest at first or if he was just rebounding from the knowledge that he'd lost Terezi to Dave he was never sure. Either way, Dirk managed to change Karkat, though in more physical abilities wise than personality wise.
Physical Changes:
During one night, Karkat was in a rather foul mood and decided it would be a good idea to take his anger out on the monsters roaming around in the Darkness. Unfortunately fighting massive creatures while blinded by rage was a horrible idea and resulted in him nearly dying from blood loss. The gash on his back went from his right shoulder down past his left hip and was about two inches in width and had to be sloppily stitched up by Dave. It left one large scar in it's place, along with three medium size ones over his chest and ribs with a mess of small scars over his back, stomach and legs from other injuries that same night.
Inventory: Sylladex (An inventory system that held all his misc items, crabtop, and weapons), 2xPokeballs containing a Zoroark and Mightyena
Abilities: The Sylladex itself can be considered a special ability unique to his world. It allows objects to be stored in cards, making them weightless and easy to carry. Karkat's weapon specialty is sickles, which he became fairly advanced at wielding over the course of playing the game. And as an added boost from his training in Siren's Pull, he's become quicker on his feet than he once was. Plus, he learned how to swim. Not really a big deal for humans, but for a land troll to swim like a sea troll is very uncommon. Most players in Sburb get a title which gives them certain abilities, though his Knight of Blood abilities are still unknown as he never reached god tier to fully uncover them. He also has a rather unnatural knowledge of romantic situations, drawn from his extensive collection of romcom movies and trashy romance novels. Too bad this rarely helps him out in his own relationships.
